Overview

Role: Solo Developer & Visual Designer

Period: Spring 2022

Company: Lonely Space Robot — A self-initiated, third-person exploration game built entirely in Unity using C# and freely available assets.

Born out of curiosity and a love for calm, scenic environments, I created this solo game project with no prior coding experience. The game places you in the role of a lone robot — the last of its kind — wandering a remote, post-apocalyptic island scattered with remnants of civilization. Every building, object, lighting cue, and ambient sound was placed with intention to tell a wordless story about memory, loss, and peace.

This project helped me realize how code and art can work together to create emotional space — even when nothing is said.

Key Contributions

Narrative Visual Design

Created an immersive third-person environment with no dialogue — using setting, lighting, and silence to tell the story.

Solo Game Development

Built the game entirely in Unity over 2 days using C#, with no prior programming background.

Scenic World Building

Composed every scene, building, and environmental detail using free Unity assets, custom object placement, and terrain tools.

Mechanics & Environment Triggers

Developed time-based day/night cycles, proximity-based soundboxes, and character movement logic.

Sound & Mood Design

Integrated ambient SFX and background music to shape emotional pacing and player immersion.
